Job Purpose

The Head of Sub Office in Táchira, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is responsible for supporting the overall management of the Sub Office and coordinating the implementation of IOM programming. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Head of Programme and in close coordination with Project Managers and support units. The position ensures that all activities align with IOM policies, standards, and commitments, contributing to the organization's mission of promoting humane and orderly migration and providing essential services and support to migrants and governments.

Responsibilities

The Head of Sub Office will assist in coordinating Sub-Office activities, ensuring adherence to IOM regulations and procedures. This includes participating in meetings with government authorities, international organizations, NGOs, and other stakeholders, and maintaining effective working relationships. The role involves contributing to project development and proposal formulation, and promoting adherence to safety and security procedures. Key duties also include coordinating programme implementation and reporting, providing regular updates on progress and donor liaison, identifying operational challenges, and suggesting corrective actions. The position also contributes to IOM and donor visibility and performs other assigned duties.

Work Experience

Experience is required in humanitarian, emergency, migration, or development programmes. This includes experience in liaising with government authorities, donors, and multi-stakeholders, supporting project development and reporting, and programme implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience working within the region is also beneficial.

Skills

Proficiency in migration management principles, concepts, and techniques. Experience in post-conflict/emergency operations. Ability to coordinate multiple activities and work effectively with diverse teams. Capacity to perform well under pressure and in challenging conditions. Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to draft clear reports. High level of computer literacy.
