Job Purpose

This role provides first-level technical support and services to users of IOM’s corporate applications and infrastructure. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Resource Management Officer and in close coordination with the ICT Central Team. The primary objective is to ensure a client and service-oriented approach to resolving technical issues, supporting the efficient operation of IOM’s IT systems and user productivity. This position is crucial for maintaining the day-to-day functionality of IT services for all users, contributing to the overall operational effectiveness of the organization.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for helpdesk technical support, assisting local and remote users with troubleshooting computers, applications, and communication equipment. Provide technical support for corporate applications and standard software, including installation and maintenance of hardware and software. Administer and monitor systems, workstations, and network equipment, ensuring timely patching and security compliance. Assist with the administration of cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365), Active Directory, antivirus, and backup systems. Contribute to system upgrades and infrastructure changes, ensuring adherence to ICT standards. Provide user training on IOM systems and devices. Maintain IT inventory and technical documentation. Support teleconference meetings and perform other related functions as required.

Work Experience

Four years of experience administrating Windows computers, Office 365 tools, and LAN/WAN Meraki networking. Extensive experience in direct user technical support and troubleshooting computer, network, and communication equipment. Proven experience supporting Office 365 and cloud-based solutions (AWS or Azure). Basic experience with cybersecurity incident response, vulnerability management, and patch management is beneficial.

Skills

Troubleshooting end-user computer problems (Windows OS, VPN, Microsoft Office); User management in Active Directory and Office 365; Configuring networking equipment (switches, firewalls); Administering corporate antivirus and backup systems; Experience with ITIL-based ticketing systems; Managing telephone switchboard systems (Avaya, Siemens); Managing videoconferencing systems (Teams, Webex, Polycom); Troubleshooting macOS; SAP and Oracle troubleshooting experience is an advantage.
