Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is a UN-related agency dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration. It collaborates with governments and partners to save lives, protect migrants, resolve displacement, and facilitate legal migration pathways. The Project Associate role supports the IOM Egypt Country Office, reporting to the Head of the Programme Support Unit.

Job Purpose

The Project Associate - Development and Reporting provides essential administrative and general support for the development and design of new projects within the IOM Egypt Country Office. This role is crucial for engaging with technical specialists and ensuring accurate, timely reporting on implemented programmes and projects. By contributing to proposal development, concept notes, and donor reports, the associate directly supports resource mobilization efforts and the overall success of IOM's migration initiatives in Egypt. The position plays a key part in maintaining project documentation, facilitating communication with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with donor agreements and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

The Project Associate is responsible for maintaining an understanding of IOM Egypt's programmes and reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This includes drafting concept notes, proposals, and donor interim/final reports in coordination with Programme Managers, adhering to project documents and donor agreements. The role involves participating in quality assurance for project reporting, verifying alignment with donor standards and IOM guidelines. Support is provided for project development and reporting within the PRIMA system, including offering procedural guidance. Additionally, the associate conducts research for proposals, maintains stakeholder contact lists, and drafts communication products like situation reports and fact sheets. The role also assists in preparing contracts, managing administrative and financial project requirements, and updating project data in IOM's systems for data accuracy.

Work Experience

Requires proven experience in project development and management, technical writing, editing, and reporting. Experience in donor relations and reporting for relevant donors is a distinct advantage. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation concepts and experience in international development or the humanitarian sector are also beneficial.

Skills

Strong English writing skills, good communication and negotiation abilities, organizational skills, analytical and creative thinking. High computer literacy with proficiency in standard office software, internet research, and email. Ability to work effectively with diverse partners and colleagues, demonstrating commitment, flexibility, and a results-driven approach under pressure.
