Job Purpose

The Senior Project Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and management of IOM projects within the designated region. This position is vital for ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives, contributing to the organization's mandate of assisting governments and migrants. The associate will be instrumental in coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and donor requirements. Their work directly impacts the effectiveness of IOM's interventions and its ability to respond to migration challenges.

Responsibilities

The Senior Project Associate will be responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities. This includes coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, managing project documentation, and tracking project timelines and budgets. The role involves preparing progress reports, conducting field visits to assess project implementation, and identifying potential challenges and risks. Additionally, the associate will support in resource mobilization efforts, contribute to proposal development, and ensure adherence to IOM's operational procedures and guidelines. They will also assist in capacity-building initiatives for project staff and beneficiaries.

Work Experience

A minimum of three to five years of relevant professional experience in project support or management, preferably within an international organization or NGO context. Experience in humanitarian assistance or migration-related projects is highly desirable.

Skills

Project management, coordination, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
