Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Assistants will be responsible for managing resource management functions within the main office in Tunis, Tunisia. Working under the supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and Administrative Centres, these roles are crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective procurement and logistics operations. The position contributes to IOM's mandate by supporting the delivery of services and programs through timely and compliant supply chain management, ensuring resources are available to assist migrants and governments.
Responsibilities
Key duties include managing the procurement process from requisition to payment, including preparing tender documents, soliciting bids, and conducting bid analysis. Responsibilities also involve confirming terms with suppliers, preparing purchase orders and contracts, and monitoring timely delivery of goods and services. The role requires maintaining procurement records, conducting market surveys to identify new suppliers, and managing contractual agreements. Additionally, Supply Chain Assistants will handle asset management, warehousing, insurance, transportation coordination, and monitoring contractor activities. They will also provide guidance on procurement procedures and support organizational activities like meetings and workshops.
Work Experience
Required experience includes procurement and logistics, working with vendors and service providers, and managing asset processes. Experience with IOM/UN Procurement and Logistics Rules and Procedures, as well as experience in an international organization, are considered advantageous.
