Organizational Context

IOM, in collaboration with national and local authorities and partners, implements the Helios+ project in the South Aegean Region. This project, funded by the "South Aegean 2021–2027" Programme, aims to integrate third-country nationals into the Greek labour market through employability support, language courses, vocational training, and social inclusion activities.

Job Purpose

The Regional Coordinator will operate under the Senior Project Coordinator and National Project Officer, overseeing the integration of third-country nationals into the Greek labour market within the South Aegean Region. This role is crucial for the successful implementation of the Helios+ project, which focuses on employability, language training, vocational development, and social cohesion. The coordinator will ensure project activities align with IOM's objectives and donor requirements, contributing to the effective integration of beneficiaries into Greek society and promoting a healthy work environment for the project team.

Responsibilities

The Regional Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and streamlining project component coordination and timely activity implementation in the designated region, adhering to IOM standards. This includes supervising, coordinating, and communicating daily with Unit Focal Points and Assistants to foster effective cooperation and a positive work environment. The role involves supporting close communication with the Donor to align implementation with requirements and maintaining strong contacts with Implementing Partners and local stakeholders for smooth project execution. Additionally, the coordinator will promote local synergies with other programs, represent IOM and the project in coordination fora, and coordinate with relevant IOM departments for efficient project management. Budget management support and the development of resource management plans to optimize resource use are also key duties.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of previous work experience is required. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred.

Skills

Computer literacy in standard software applications. Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles. A valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience is an advantage.
