In Türkiye, IOM has been actively involved in Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) since 2009, working with national authorities and other stakeholders to build legislation and operations.

Job Purpose

The Project Associate (AVR Case Management) role supports IOM Türkiye's Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) program. This position is crucial for facilitating the orderly and humane return and reintegration of migrants who wish to return to their countries of origin. The role involves direct support to program activities, working under the supervision of the Senior Project Associate and National Project Officer (Compliance). The incumbent will contribute to the effective implementation of AVRR initiatives, ensuring that migrants receive necessary assistance and support throughout the process, aligning with IOM standards and national and international regulations. This role is key to the successful delivery of AVRR services in Türkiye.

Responsibilities

The Project Associate will support the day-to-day activities and administrative/financial processes of the AVRR project, including outreach, case registration, tracking, counseling, and service delivery. Responsibilities include assisting in organizing workshops and meetings, liaising with national counterparts, and reporting on referrals and assistance provided. The role involves retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project data, and providing feedback on challenges and progress. The associate will contribute to developing new ideas, tools, and guidelines for AVRR beneficiaries. Additionally, the position requires liaising with partners like PMM and NGOs to ensure effective collaboration and information flow, participating in trainings, and supporting the evaluation of assistance effectiveness. Operational coordination with internal IOM departments is also a key duty.

Work Experience

Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and victims of trafficking is required. The role also necessitates experience in case management, liaising with governmental authorities and institutions, and in fields like protection, counter-trafficking, child protection, return and reintegration, or humanitarian affairs. Willingness and ability to travel are also essential.

Skills

Key skills include the ability to organize work independently, prioritize under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail. Proficiency in analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills is essential. The role requires knowledge of social work theory, human behavior, national protection systems, and human rights. Strong computer literacy, good interpersonal skills for diverse interactions, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are also necessary.
