Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator in IOM Armenia is responsible for implementing project activities under the IOM Armenia Country Office. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Head of Office in Armenia, with collaboration from relevant units at Headquarters and Administrative Centres. The purpose is to ensure the effective execution of project objectives, contributing to IOM's mission of promoting humane and orderly migration and supporting people on the move within the Armenian context.
Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will independently lead and coordinate project implementation, monitoring activities to ensure adherence to plans and recommending adjustments as needed. Responsibilities include researching and analyzing relevant developments, monitoring budget expenditures, and coordinating financial, administrative, and technical aspects in line with IOM policies and donor requirements. The role involves planning and conducting capacity-building workshops, participating in meetings, and maintaining liaison with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the coordinator will prepare correspondence and reports, identify best practices and lessons learned, supervise reporting staff, and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and victims of trafficking is essential. Prior work in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is advantageous.
Skills
Key skills include in-depth knowledge of migration-related subjects, strong understanding of border governance and capacity development, and familiarity with EU/Frontex standards. Excellent project management, coordination, stakeholder engagement, analytical, drafting, and reporting skills are essential. The ability to build partnerships, knowledge of UN/donor programming, and results-based management are also required.
