Job Purpose
This role supports the Senior Resource Management Officer and National Budget Officer in managing financial resources and providing financial information for informed decision-making. The position is crucial for overseeing the financial management of assigned project portfolios, ensuring compliance with IOM regulations and donor agreements. It contributes to accurate financial reporting, budget monitoring, and the preparation of financial analyses and forecasts, thereby supporting the effective implementation and accountability of IOM's migration-related projects and programs.
Responsibilities
Manage and control financial resources, including assets, reserves, and funds, for assigned projects in compliance with IOM rules. Provide regular and ad hoc financial information to support decision-making. Oversee financial expenditure and accountability, preparing forecasts and ensuring all commitments are accurately reflected. Assist in preparing donor financial reports and annual budgets, monitoring budget control, and analyzing variances. Prepare budgets for new projects and maintain financial files. Manage payroll processing and support budget proposal reviews. Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure correct cost allocation. Perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Experience is required in financial management, budgeting, and systems review. Additionally, experience in accounting, finance, banking, and treasury is necessary for this role.
Skills
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet). Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
