Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to develop comprehensive information materials on the UK Seasonal Worker Scheme (SWS) for Kazakhstan. Building on existing modules, the objective is to create a concise, practical factsheet for public service providers and prospective migrant workers. This resource will provide accurate and accessible information on SWS participation, including recruitment pathways, visa procedures, official operators, tax refunds, and worker rights and responsibilities. The goal is to enhance awareness and preparedness among potential seasonal workers and equip national service providers with the necessary knowledge to support safe migration.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for developing textual content and delivering training. Key duties include drafting a comprehensive, easy-to-understand SWS Factsheet (max 10 A4 pages) based on existing modules, focusing on general guidance, safe migration practices, and worker rights. This includes a detailed, step-by-step section on the UK visa application process, covering timelines, documentation, fees, and fraud prevention. Additionally, a practical section on UK tax refund procedures will be developed, explaining the legal process and warning against scams. The consultant will also co-lead and deliver a 1.5-day in-person refresher training for 1414 operators in Astana, guiding participants through the developed materials and supporting their understanding.
Work Experience
Required experience includes demonstrated expertise in legal consulting, migration management, or public service capacity building. Experience in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or guidance materials for frontline service providers is essential. Knowledge of UK SWS visa and tax refund procedures, and experience in designing and delivering training for adult professionals are also necessary.
