Layout and Graphic Design Consultant
Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN agency established in 1951, promotes humane and orderly migration. The organization supports governments and migrants, aiming to save lives, protect people on the move, and drive solutions to displacement. This consultancy role contributes to the operationalization of new National Referral Mechanism and Victim Identification System Guidelines for Trafficking in Persons in the Philippines, supporting the Government's efforts to enhance service delivery for trafficked persons.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to produce a polished, publication-ready version of the Philippines Enhanced National Referral Mechanism Guidelines for Trafficking in Persons Cases and the Philippine Guidelines on the Victim Identification System for Trafficking in Persons. The role is crucial for the operationalization of these approved guidelines, ensuring they are suitable for both digital and print publication. By creating a visually appealing and accessible final product, the consultancy will facilitate wider dissemination and understanding among stakeholders and duty bearers. This directly supports the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking's (IACAT) launch and dissemination plan, ultimately contributing to more efficient and coordinated service delivery for trafficked persons, upholding their rights and preventing further harm. The work will be managed by the Protection team within the Migration Management Unit (MMU) in Manila.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for proposing three distinct design themes, including color schemes, layout structures, cover designs, and illustration styles, aligned with the provided brand and style guide within the first week. Following IOM's selection of a theme, the consultant will submit an initial draft of the Guidelines by the second week. Revisions will be made based on IOM's feedback, with up to three rounds of revisions accommodated within the third and fourth weeks. The final deliverable will be the approved version of the Guidelines, submitted in both editable and permanent formats by the end of the fourth week. Performance will be evaluated based on timely submission of deliverables, aesthetic improvement of the knowledge product, consistent application of branding and design standards, and amicable resolution of any issues raised.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in design and layout services is required. Of this, at least three years must involve providing layout support for manual/research outputs, reports, or similar project-based products.
Skills
Excellent creativity, design, and editing skills are essential. Familiarity with Philippine government branding styles is considered an advantage. A good command of the English language is required.
