This role, under the Senior Programme Coordinator in Ankara, supports project objectives and daily implementation of the "Promoting Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Labour Market Integration" project.

Job Purpose

The Project Associate role is crucial for supporting and coordinating the achievement of project objectives and ensuring the successful day-to-day implementation of activities under the "Promoting Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Labour Market Integration" project. This involves assisting the Senior Programme Coordinator in Ankara by managing various project-related tasks, from administrative coordination to monitoring progress and reporting. The position contributes to IOM's broader mandate of promoting humane and orderly migration by facilitating the integration of individuals into the labour market, thereby supporting sustainable and inclusive development. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders to ensure project success and impact.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, and retrieving, compiling, summarizing, analyzing, and presenting project-related data. The role involves monitoring project budgets, liaising with diverse organizational units and external parties for administrative coordination, and drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls, and suggesting remedial actions. Additionally, the Project Associate will draft correspondence, prepare reports and other documentation, respond to information requests, maintain files, and organize meetings. Participation in meetings with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders is required. The role also includes assisting in monitoring Implementing Partners, reporting non-compliances, and providing guidance to junior staff.

Work Experience

Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and victims of trafficking is essential. Prior work experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is considered an advantage.

Skills

Proficiency in migration and displacement issues, understanding of UN systems, project management, and donor-funded programming. Knowledge of financial regulations, budgeting, and compliance. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong report writing, drafting, and presentation abilities. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Fluency in Turkish and English is required; Arabic is advantageous.
