Job Purpose
This position supports the implementation of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) activities within the project "Training, Assistance and Territorial Support for the Efficiency of Assisted Voluntary Returns." The role involves providing counselling and information to migrants interested in voluntary return to their countries of origin. The incumbent will assist in managing application processes, coordinating with local stakeholders and Italian institutions, and facilitating the logistical aspects of return. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of AVRR services and supporting migrants through their return journey, contributing to the overall objectives of IOM's migration management programs in Italy.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining contact with local stakeholders such as municipalities, NGOs, and diaspora groups to enhance AVRR information dissemination and referral mechanisms. The role involves providing direct AVRR information sessions and tailored counselling to Third Country Nationals (TCNs). This includes assisting migrants in completing application forms, submitting them to relevant authorities, and managing all related documentation. The incumbent will also disseminate project information materials, coordinate with Police Headquarters and Prefectures to facilitate the eligibility assessment process, and assist in organizing transportation for medical and non-medical cases. Furthermore, the role requires collecting data for statistical reporting, contributing to success stories, and performing other project-related tasks as assigned.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of experience in the migration sector, with a focus on direct assistance to migrant populations, including those in vulnerable situations. Proven experience working with Italian institutions at central and local levels, civic society, and diaspora groups is essential. Experience in a multicultural team is necessary, and prior experience in AVRR counselling is considered an asset.
Skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently. Capacity to work under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Personal commitment, efficiency, and drive for results are also important.
