Job Purpose

The Senior MEAL Associate (Data) is responsible for providing specialized digital data collection and business intelligence services. This role supports project monitoring, strategic performance management, and organizational reporting by designing, developing, and maintaining digital data collection platforms, interactive dashboards, and visualization products. The incumbent ensures data quality, accessibility, and compliance with IOM data management standards, operating under the direct supervision of the Senior National MEAL Officer.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include processing, consolidating, and analyzing data for donor and internal reporting requirements. The role involves guiding the MEAL team in standardizing data collection, analysis, and management tools, and monitoring targets and indicators using agreed frameworks. This includes providing M&E coaching to colleagues and partners to promote adherence to standards, encourage appropriate data collection methods, and improve data quality. The associate will build capacities in using relevant tools like Kobo Toolbox and Power BI, consolidate and analyze M&E data, and create visualized dashboards and analytical reports. Collaboration with MEAL and project teams is essential for data collection tool design and data capture procedures. The role also involves maintaining data confidentiality, verifying storage compliance, and assisting in developing thematic reports and interagency monitoring initiatives.

Work Experience

Requires at least four years of experience with data collection, analysis, and visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Kobo Toolbox, MS Excel). Demonstrated experience in designing data collection tools, statistical analysis, report drafting, information flow management, and database/information system management is needed. Previous experience with international organizations or UN agencies is preferred.
