Job Purpose
This consultancy supports the IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) in Bosnia and Herzegovina by systematically collecting and analyzing migration flow data. The role provides critical information on migrant locations, profiles, vulnerabilities, and needs, specifically concerning Turkish nationals. The objective is to enhance the knowledge and skills of national institutions and humanitarian actors for improved risk profiling, protection-sensitive responses, and overall migration management. The consultant will contribute to IOM's existing operational capacities to deliver reliable information on migrant flows towards Europe.
Responsibilities
The consultant will support data collection and management for the DTM team in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the supervision of the DTM Regional Coordinator and Programme Data Analyst. Key duties include adhering to IOM DTM guidelines and assessment deadlines, processing data accurately according to instructions, and covering service areas within Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consultant must undergo adequate training, report on approved surveys, and promptly inform the DTM Field Officer of any changes in population movements or relevant events. Responsibilities also involve investigating data sources for reliability, submitting surveys to the focal point and information management unit, correcting feedback, and ensuring adherence to organizational documents and security protocols. Any other assigned duties by the supervisor are also required.
Work Experience
Experience in field data collection and conducting interviews is required. Prior experience working with migrants and for an international organization is considered an advantage.
