Organizational Context

IOM, established in 1951, is a leading UN agency promoting humane and orderly migration. In Greece, under the 'Helios+' project, IOM collaborates with authorities and partners to integrate third-country nationals into the labor market. This role supports employability initiatives within the Central Greece region, operating under the 'Central Greece 2021–2027' Programme.

Job Purpose

This role is designed to facilitate the labor market integration of beneficiaries of international and temporary protection within the Central Greece region. The Employability Facilitator will actively contribute to the 'Helios+' project by providing direct support to individuals seeking employment. This involves engaging in career counselling, identifying job opportunities, and fostering connections between beneficiaries and potential employers. The position plays a crucial part in enhancing the employability of beneficiaries through targeted activities, including organizing workshops and advising on necessary documentation to improve their prospects in the Greek job market, ultimately supporting their successful integration into society.

Responsibilities

The Employability Facilitator will support labor market integration through individual and group career counselling. Key duties include mapping potential employers, identifying job vacancies, and cultivating collaborations with private sector entities to enhance beneficiary employability. The role involves connecting beneficiaries with suitable job opportunities and participating in the organization of workshops, seminars, and events focused on labor market access. Additionally, the facilitator will advise beneficiaries on required documentation for employment and reimbursement, such as driving licenses and language certificates. Accurate data entry and archiving of verification means are also essential, alongside performing other assigned duties.

Work Experience

Previous work experience in a similar role is required. Candidates should possess a combination of knowledge, education, training, and skills suitable for the position's essential functions. Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred.

Skills

Proficiency in standard software applications is necessary. Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles are essential. A valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience is an advantage.
