ICT Associate
Organizational Context
Established in 1951, IOM is a UN-related organization and the leading UN agency in migration. It promotes humane and orderly migration, saves lives, protects people on the move, and drives solutions to displacement. The ICT Associate role supports IOM's IT operations in Istanbul and its field offices, reporting to the Senior Resource Management Officer and Senior IT Assistant.
Job Purpose
The ICT Associate is responsible for coordinating the Information Technology component of all IOM IT operations within the Istanbul Office and its associated field offices, including the Istanbul Clinic, Airport, and Dedeman Hotel. This role ensures the effective functioning of IT systems and provides essential support to staff. The position contributes to the overall mission of IOM by facilitating seamless communication and operational efficiency through reliable IT infrastructure and services, supporting the organization's commitment to promoting humane and orderly migration and assisting people on the move.
Responsibilities
Provide onsite end-user support via email, phone, and in-person. Assist with the installation, operation, and administration of network components, including Cisco Meraki routers, firewalls, and access points. Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN systems. Install, configure, and upgrade desktop and laptop computers and software. Assist with system and network security, including virus protection and access control. Maintain IT inventory and documentation, including network diagrams. Install and relocate hardware, and coordinate equipment servicing. Implement and manage centralized backup systems. Support the maintenance of current and upcoming ITC equipment. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Perform quality assurance procedures to ensure client satisfaction. Support the configuration of VHF and HF radio networks. Stay updated on the latest IT standards and technologies. Provide technical support for mission-critical applications. Report on ITC issues and progress. Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of CCTV and card reader access control systems.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a networking environment (LAN/WAN). Experience with Windows Server software in a multi-site environment, TCP/IP, MS Office, Antivirus Software, Backup Server software, and IT utilities is required. Knowledge of IP, VPN, VOIP, and LAN/WAN infrastructure is necessary. BSAFE and Information Security Awareness foundational training is required. ITIL Foundation and/or PRINCE2 training is advantageous.
