Job Purpose
The Tamil Nadu State Coordinator will provide robust field support and act as the primary contact for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) related to migrant worker resource centers in Tamil Nadu. A key responsibility is ensuring continuous oversight and quality assurance of activities performed by the implementing partner. This involves regular field visits to monitor progress, assess intervention effectiveness, verify reported outputs, and identify areas for improvement. The role also entails developing and applying data collection and evaluation tools, ensuring alignment with project goals and IOM standards. Additionally, the incumbent will offer technical and administrative support, coordinate with diverse stakeholders, support outreach efforts, contribute to reporting, and assist in preparing project materials.
Responsibilities
Engage with migrant workers and communities, supporting the establishment and operation of Mobile Worker Resource Centers. Serve as the primary liaison between IOM and the Implementing Partner (IP), ensuring smooth project implementation. Develop and implement M&E frameworks to assess project effectiveness, preparing regular evaluation reports and project updates. Conduct field visits to oversee service delivery and gather feedback, coordinating logistics for field activities and promptly addressing operational issues. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and partners. Assist in planning and executing service delivery projects, monitoring timelines, budgets, and resources. Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with policies, and stay informed on industry best practices. Strengthen project outreach and impact using local knowledge. Create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking key metrics and develop data visualizations.
Work Experience
Requires proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, a solid understanding of management principles, and experience handling NGO teams for program implementation. Experience in assessing monitoring improvement plans, drafting status reports, and working with government counterparts, UN agencies, or NGOs is advantageous.
