Job Purpose
The Project Assistant (CTLM) will provide crucial support to the implementation and monitoring of Counter Trafficking, Labour Mobility, and Social Inclusion (CT/LMSI) programmes and projects in Jakarta. Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate and overall guidance of the National Project Officer, this role is integral to the CT/LMSI unit's efforts to enhance Indonesia's migration pathways. The incumbent will assist in organizing project activities, administrative tasks, and communication efforts, ensuring the smooth execution of initiatives aimed at fostering efficient and transparent labour migration, preventing trafficking, and protecting beneficiaries. This position contributes directly to IOM's mandate of promoting humane and orderly migration.
Responsibilities
Provide general and clerical assistance for the Counter Trafficking, Labour Mobility, and Social Inclusion (CT/LMSI) project activities, including meetings, trainings, and workshops. Assist in note-taking, reporting, and translating project materials between Bahasa Indonesia and English. Support administrative tasks by coordinating with internal units and external parties, processing requests, and following up on administrative actions. Compile, summarize, and present project-related information and data for reporting and communication. Assist in developing presentations, visibility products, and other publication materials. Update project monitoring and evaluation tools under guidance. Respond to information requests and maintain project files and records. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs is advantageous. A good understanding of migration, trafficking in persons, and labour mobility issues is beneficial. The candidate must be able to manage workload effectively and demonstrate the ability to work in a multicultural environment, maintaining positive working relations with diverse individuals.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Good organizational skills, including logistics and preparing training materials. Ability to work in fast-paced environments. Understanding of protection principles and 'do no harm' approach. Good research and writing skills. Proactive with ability to follow guidance. Ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues. Operating design software (e.g., Photoshop, Canva) is an advantage.
