Job Purpose

This Project Associate (Monitoring and Evaluation) role, based in Caracas, Venezuela, is crucial for supporting IOM's mission. The position contributes to the effective implementation and oversight of migration-related projects. By assisting in data collection, analysis, and reporting, the role ensures that project activities are monitored, evaluated, and aligned with organizational goals. This supports IOM's commitment to providing humanitarian assistance, advancing international cooperation on migration, and finding practical solutions to emerging challenges faced by migrants and displaced persons.

Responsibilities

The Project Associate will assist in project activity implementation and monitoring, retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project data. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, and liaising with diverse units and external parties. The role involves drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls, and suggesting remedial actions. Additionally, the associate will draft correspondence, prepare reports and documentation, respond to information requests, maintain files, and organize meetings. Participation in meetings with stakeholders, monitoring implementing partners, and providing guidance to junior staff are also key duties.

Work Experience

Required experience includes proficiency with data collection tools (ODK, XLSForms), Monitoring and Evaluation principles (indicator development, logical frameworks, monitoring plans), and data quality assurance, analysis, and reporting for adaptive program management.

Skills

Proficiency in computer literacy, ability to work with national and international institutions, strong report writing and communication skills, and the capacity to identify resource requirements are essential.
