Job Purpose
The Programme Coordinator (Displacement Tracking Matrix - DTM) in Sudan, reporting to the Chief of Mission and Head of Programmes, will lead the DTM Programme. This involves overseeing the implementation of DTM activities across Sudan, including monitoring population movements, registering internally displaced persons (IDPs), conducting assessment missions, tracking, site monitoring, and village assessments. The role is crucial for gathering and disseminating vital information to support humanitarian coordination, inform programming, and address the needs of populations affected by displacement and migration.
Responsibilities
The Programme Coordinator will manage the DTM Programme, including setting up and adapting mechanisms for population tracking, flow monitoring, and site assessments. Responsibilities include analyzing data, producing regular reports, and disseminating DTM results to stakeholders. The role involves coordinating field data collection, supervising information management operations, and facilitating mapping and analysis of displacement data. The coordinator will lead the design and implementation of assessments, develop and deliver training on DTM methodology, and ensure the integration of cross-cutting issues like protection, gender, and data protection principles. Additionally, the role entails managing logistical and administrative arrangements, fostering operational partnerships, and providing guidance and supervision to staff.
Work Experience
Required experience includes project development, management, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in Information Management or Disaster Risk Management is essential. Experience with population databases, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, and international operations with specialized agencies is highly desirable.
Skills
Proficiency in MS Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Expertise in data collection tools such as Kobo and ODK. Knowledge of graphic design using Adobe suite is also noted. Familiarity with UN, IOM, and NGO mandates in humanitarian assistance for IDPs and conflict-affected populations is beneficial.
