Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Support Associate will support the Programme Support Unit (PSU) in the implementation of programming across various projects and programmes within IOM Jordan. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and coordination of programming, working closely with thematic units, HQ, regional colleagues, and external counterparts. The associate will contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of initiatives, aligning with the mission-wide IOM Jordan strategy. The position operates under the supervision of the Programme Support Unit Officer and in coordination with the Project Support Unit Coordinator, playing a key role in the effective delivery of IOM's mandate in Jordan.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Support Associate will provide research and drafting support for project proposals and donor meetings. They will ensure timely input into the IOM project management system (PRIMA) for project development. The role involves maintaining information tools for tracking service delivery and identifying gaps, including reports and spreadsheets. The associate will assist in budget monitoring and project implementation by supporting data collection, processing, analysis, and management for reporting. They will also help draft and coordinate communications and advocacy products. Additionally, the role includes reviewing and integrating cross-cutting issues like gender and accountability into programme development and implementation, and performing other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Required experience includes monitoring and evaluation, data collection, accountability, or programme support within a governmental, non-governmental, or international organization. Familiarity with community feedback mechanisms and accountability processes is necessary. Experience supporting third-party monitoring (TPM) activities is desirable. Prior experience with UN agencies, INGOs, and NGOs is considered an asset.
Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong reporting, writing, and research abilities. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and national backgrounds.
