The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Guyana seeks an Information and Communication Technology Associate. Job Purpose
The Information and Communication Technology Associate is responsible for providing and coordinating ICT solutions and services within the IOM Guyana country office, including end-user support. This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the mission's IT networks and systems. By ensuring robust IT infrastructure and responsive support, the position directly contributes to the overall organizational productivity, aligning with IOM's global ICT Strategy, policies, and standards. The role ensures seamless technological operations, enabling staff to perform their duties effectively and supporting the organization's mandate.
Responsibilities
Supervise and guide ICT Assistants, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support, including diagnosis and resolution of issues. Install, configure, and administer network connectivity, systems, applications, and cloud services to ensure availability. Monitor and maintain systems and networks daily, analyzing performance, resolving issues, and recommending solutions for continuous operations. Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery plans for technology services. Respond to information security incidents, manage IT risks, and escalate complex issues. Coordinate with regional and central units on cybersecurity efforts and manage software updates and patches for security. Participate in the implementation and evaluation of digital solutions and support mission data systems. Produce and maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures. Translate business challenges into practical ICT solutions and deliver training to ICT assistants and end-users. Liaise with service providers for technology services and supplies.
Work Experience
Requires five years of professional experience for university degree holders, or seven years for diploma/high school holders. Experience should be in a networking environment (LAN/WAN) and Tier-2 level network/desktop support, with at least one year in cloud computing. Experience with international agencies is advantageous.
