Job Purpose
This consultancy is for a Graphic Designer/Illustrator to support IOM's 'Central Asia Safe Migration' project. The primary purpose is to create original illustrations and visual assets that enhance communication and awareness-raising activities. These materials will cover key project themes such as Seasonal Workers Scheme updates, fraud prevention, and safe migration practices. The role involves designing engaging content for various platforms, including social media and print, ensuring cultural relevance for Central Asian audiences. The graphic designer will collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, visually consistent materials that align with IOM's branding and project objectives, ultimately contributing to the project's success in promoting safe migration.
Responsibilities
Develop original custom illustrations and graphic elements for project communication and awareness-raising activities, focusing on themes like SWS updates, fraud prevention, and safe migration. Design visually engaging illustrations consistent with IOM Branding Guidelines for multiple platforms (social media, print, presentations, reports). Create high-quality, culturally adapted visual assets for social media across Central Asian countries. Develop print-ready layouts for leaflets and awareness materials, adhering to professional printing standards. Provide additional graphic design services as requested by IOM, within the consultancy scope. Deliver specific outputs including 80 social media designs, 5 leaflet designs, 20 custom vector illustrations, and multilingual adaptations of all approved materials.
Work Experience
Requires at least three years of experience in designing communication materials for social media and print. Proven experience in developing communication materials for information campaigns and creating original vector illustrations and visual concepts is necessary. Experience with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, or development partners is advantageous.
Skills
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop). Strong illustration and vector design skills. Knowledge of typography, layout design, and visual storytelling. Ability to prepare print-ready artwork and digital assets. Skill in adapting designs for multilingual content while maintaining visual quality and consistency. Experience with Figma or other collaborative design platforms is an advantage.
