Job Purpose
This Senior Project Development and Reporting Associate role, based in Caracas, Venezuela, is a Special Short-Term position until December 31, 2026. The incumbent will support IOM's mission by assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities. This includes contributing to the development of concept notes and project proposals, compiling and analyzing data, and monitoring emerging trends. The role is crucial for ensuring effective project delivery, donor reporting, and maintaining strong liaison with various stakeholders to advance IOM's objectives in migration management and humanitarian assistance.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in project planning, coordination, and monitoring, with a focus on developing concept notes and proposals. The role involves compiling, analyzing, and presenting project data, and monitoring trends against IOM frameworks and donor requirements. The Associate will act as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal and external parties. Duties also encompass drafting status reports, correspondence, and donor reports, preparing documentation, and organizing meetings and workshops. Additionally, the position requires responding to information requests, maintaining records, supporting funding opportunity monitoring, and providing general support for new project development, including drafting SOPs and concept papers. The role may involve guiding and coordinating other staff.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and IDPs is essential. Prior experience in international humanitarian organizations or similar institutions in a multicultural setting is advantageous. Experience in drafting project proposals and reports for donors is also necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in communication, writing, and organizational skills is required. Strong analytical and planning abilities are essential. The candidate must be able to work effectively with diverse colleagues, handle pressure with accuracy and confidentiality, and demonstrate initiative and good judgment. Computer literacy, including database applications, is necessary.
