Job Purpose
The Associate Project Officer (Gender and Climate Mobility) is responsible for supporting all facets of projects, programmes, and strategy related to Gender and Inclusion within climate mobility initiatives. This includes contributing to implementation planning, coordinating activities, reviewing project outputs, and assisting with reporting. The role directly supports the Pacific Climate Mobility Partnerships (PCMP) Programme, a regional effort to advance rights-based, people-centred climate mobility actions across the Pacific. The position operates under the supervision of the Head of Sub Office, Marshall Islands, and in coordination with the PCMP Programme Manager in Fiji and relevant Headquarters units, ensuring gender considerations are integrated into climate mobility strategies and activities.
Responsibilities
The Associate Project Officer will review project documents to identify and address gaps in gender integration, escalating findings to supervisors. Responsibilities include compiling and drafting materials for capacity development and training on gender and climate information. The role involves collecting and summarizing data on gender, climate change, and human mobility to support programme implementation and reporting. Additionally, the officer will circulate relevant research and best practices to partners, provide administrative and coordination support for engagement with partners, governments, and CSOs on gender issues, and coordinate logistics for events and meetings. The position also entails tracking project indicators, reporting on monitoring and evaluation requirements, and assisting with data collection during field missions.
Work Experience
Significant experience is required in Gender mainstreaming, aligning with IOM/donor requirements and applying IOM guidance and procedures. Experience in project development, reporting, and donor liaison is also essential.
Skills
Strong reporting, writing, and research skills, particularly related to Gender inclusion. Excellent communication and analytical abilities. Demonstrated knowledge of gender mainstreaming in data collection, activity implementation, and reporting. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals.
