Job Purpose
The Project Associate (LMI) is responsible for providing essential administrative, logistical, and operational support for the implementation of Labor Migration and Social Inclusion (LMI) projects in Ethiopia. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and efficient organization of project activities, including trainings, workshops, assessments, and consultant missions. The incumbent will facilitate smooth internal coordination between finance, procurement, logistics, and program units, adhering to IOM's rules and donor requirements. By contributing to administrative continuity and operational efficiency, the Project Associate directly supports the successful execution of interconnected LMI initiatives focused on labor mobility, training, capacity-building, and diaspora engagement, ultimately strengthening IOM's support for people on the move.
Responsibilities
Support the administrative and operational implementation of Labor Migration and Social Inclusion (LMI) projects. Assist with logistics for trainings, workshops, meetings, assessments, and field missions, including venue coordination and participant management. Prepare and process administrative documentation for travel, purchases, payments, and consultant support. Maintain organized filing systems for project correspondence, activity records, and procurement tracking. Follow up internally with relevant units to ensure timely project activity execution. Support procurement and logistics processes for equipment and supplies. Assist in maintaining project tracking tools for activities, expenditures, and deliverables. Support the preparation of routine project documents, such as minutes and activity files. Provide logistical and administrative support for consultant missions and duty travel. Assist in maintaining administrative coordination across LMI activities.
Work Experience
Experience in administrative, logistical, or program support functions is required. Experience supporting events like trainings and workshops is necessary. Experience with travel, procurement, finance, or operational support processes, and project implementation within an international organization, is advantageous. Experience maintaining records and working with multiple internal units is also beneficial.
Skills
