Senior Case Management Associate

Organizational Context

IOM, established in 1951, is a UN agency promoting humane and orderly migration. IOM Ireland, operating since 2001, manages various migration aspects including resettlement, counter-trafficking, and mental health support. This role is situated within the MHPSS Unit, supporting international protection seekers at the Citywest accommodation facility.

Job Purpose

This role supports the implementation of project activities focused on improving the psychosocial well-being and resilience of international protection seekers at the Citywest accommodation facility. The incumbent will supervise caseworkers and Infoline Assistants, coordinate on-site activities with stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of mental health and psychosocial support services. The position contributes to IOM's mission of providing essential services and support to people on the move, fostering a safe and inclusive environment, and facilitating pathways for regular migration.

Responsibilities

Supervise caseworkers and Infoline Assistants, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and equitable task allocation. Coordinate daily operations and services for residents, providing guidance to community focal points and volunteers. Collaborate on MHPSS needs assessments, surveys, and research. Support basic vulnerability screening activities and align them with IOM standards. Identify and report team training needs. Prepare weekly updates on trends, challenges, and implemented solutions. Escalate sensitive issues and analyze resident feedback. Maintain contact with agencies for information sessions and outreach. Direct residents to available services and maintain partnerships with civil society organizations. Stay updated on policies affecting international protection applicants and share information with the team. Assist with monitoring, evaluation, and reporting tasks.

Work Experience

Experience in case management or assistance programs for migrants, social work, and vulnerability assessments is required. Experience providing direct assistance to migrants/refugees, working with Irish State agencies and NGOs, and understanding international protection standards is preferred. Prior experience in MHPSS or a multicultural environment is advantageous.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, emotional resilience, intercultural competence, effective communication, organizational, facilitation, writing, and presentation skills. Computer literacy in standard software applications. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
