Job Purpose
This role is designed to provide essential psychosocial support to Afghan nationals residing in Al-Saliyah Camp through specialized mental health services and psychological counseling. The purpose is to ensure a prompt and effective response to the mental and psychological needs of refugees, encompassing assessments, individual support, referrals, and group activities aimed at fostering resilience and social cohesion. This intervention is crucial for improving the quality of life and alleviating the psychological distress experienced by this vulnerable population due to displacement and challenging living conditions. The consultant will contribute to the overall humanitarian efforts to enhance well-being.
Responsibilities
The consultant will lead basic and advanced tailoring skills sessions, providing hands-on training and mentorship to community tailors to enhance their teaching capabilities. Responsibilities include organizing and overseeing the daily logistics of the Tailoring Program, ensuring resource availability and maintenance, and planning training schedules and workshops. The role involves facilitating workshops for capacity building, focusing on new fashion trends, techniques, and entrepreneurship, while fostering a supportive learning environment. Additionally, the consultant will lead the planning and organization of a community fashion show, collaborating with stakeholders for event management. Regular monitoring of the training program's progress, reporting on data such as participation and skill improvement, and providing updates to the Program Manager are also key duties.
Work Experience
Proven experience in tailoring and garment-making, with expertise in both basic and advanced techniques, is essential. Experience in teaching or mentoring, particularly in a community setting, is required. Strong organizational and project management skills, including experience in event coordination, are necessary. Prior experience in leading fashion shows or similar events is considered an asset.
