MHPSS Senior Project Associate
Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN-related organization established in 1951, promotes humane and orderly migration. In response to significant displacement following events in Ukraine, IOM in Moldova has established a system to monitor and analyze mobility trends. The MHPSS Senior Project Associate role supports MHPSS project activities under the Migration Health Program Officer.
Job Purpose
The MHPSS Senior Project Associate is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) project activities. This role involves compiling and analyzing project data, monitoring budget implementation, and acting as a focal point for administrative coordination. The associate will draft reports, correspondence, and documentation, and organize meetings and training sessions. They will liaise with various stakeholders, monitor implementing partners, and contribute to the development of project-related documents and Standard Operating Procedures. The position also involves providing guidance and potentially supervising other staff members.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring MHPSS project activities. Compile, summarize, and analyze project data, identifying key issues for stakeholders. Monitor budget execution and propose necessary adjustments. Serve as a liaison for administrative coordination, interacting with internal units and external parties. Draft status reports, identifying and suggesting solutions for delivery shortfalls. Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and other project documentation. Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including preparing materials. Respond to information requests and maintain project records. Coordinate with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors. Monitor the work of implementing partners and MHPSS mobile teams, reporting non-compliance. Contribute to the development of SOPs and concept papers. Provide guidance and potentially supervise junior staff. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Experience in information management, particularly in migration or conflict situations, and in field data collection is required. Experience with international organizations or NGOs is advantageous. Knowledge of border management settings is appreciated. High computer literacy in Windows and MS Office is mandatory.
Skills
Ability to work with flexibility, integrity, and independently with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines. Aptitude for learning and constructive criticism. Ability to organize information flow. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, and email. Familiarity with mobile data collection technologies and GPS is an advantage.
