Job Purpose

This Project Assistant (PSEAH) role, based in Caracas, Venezuela, is crucial for supporting the IOM's strategic approach to preventing and responding to sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH). The position contributes to safeguarding individuals, upholding human rights, and protecting the organization's reputation by assisting in the monitoring, implementation, and reporting of SEAH prevention activities. The role supports capacity building for partners, disseminates key messages, and facilitates training to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all, aligning with UN and IOM's commitment to zero tolerance for SEA.

Responsibilities

The Project Assistant (PSEAH) will support the monitoring and tracking of PSEAH activities, and assist in systematizing information and data on prevention and response actions. This includes supporting capacity assessments and developing strengthening plans for partner organizations. The role involves assisting in the development and delivery of PSEAH training for IOM staff and implementing partners, and continuously sharing key messages on PSEAH, reporting requirements, and support mechanisms. The assistant will help develop and implement communication and awareness tools, draft reports and other documentation, and contribute to the collection, analysis, and use of PSEAH-related data. Additionally, the role supports the dissemination of PSEAH results and best practices, organizes meetings and training sessions, and performs other related tasks as assigned.

Work Experience

Required experience includes working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups. Professional experience at the national or international level supporting protection processes and preventing sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), particularly gender-based violence, is essential. Experience in implementing analytical procedures and tools for monitoring and analyzing quantitative and qualitative information, along with a gender perspective, is also required. Experience working with communities, civil society, and government entities is necessary.

Skills

Proficiency in information technology and Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) is required. Knowledge of thematic areas related to migration handled by the Organization, UN guidelines on protection against sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH), and national/international regulatory frameworks on gender-based violence are also necessary.
