Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Budget Support Associate in Manila, Philippines. This role operates under the GSSC Finance Hub, directly supervised by the National Budget Support Officer. Job Purpose
The Budget Support Associate's primary purpose is to assist in the accurate maintenance and validation of budget data within IOM's PRIMA and WAVE systems, adhering strictly to established rules and guidance. This role contributes to effective budgetary control by supporting the monitoring of utilization, managing system-related issues, and facilitating cost allocation processes. The associate will also maintain essential documentation and contribute to process improvements, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of financial operations within the GSSC Finance Hub and supporting various IOM departments.
Responsibilities
The Budget Support Associate is responsible for supporting project budget management, including uploading, revising, and validating budget data in PRIMA and WAVE, and performing post-upload checks. This involves ensuring data accuracy and consistency, entering approved tolerance updates, and maintaining operational trackers. The role also supports monthly Staff Cost Allocation (SCA) and Common Cost Allocation (CCA) processes in PULSE, verifying data accuracy and reporting system issues. Additionally, the associate will assist in managing budget-related inquiries, testing system enhancements, updating standard operating procedures, maintaining organized records, and providing timely budget support services to stakeholders.
Work Experience
Experience with IOM's administrative and financial management, budget monitoring, and internal control procedures is advantageous. Direct experience using PRIMA and Oracle ERP systems is a mandatory requirement for this role.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel and data management tools. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail for accurate budget data processing. Good written and oral communication abilities for effective stakeholder interaction. Familiarity with IOM's Financial Management Rules and Procedures (FMRP) and Project Handbook is expected. Adaptability to a hybrid work environment is also noted.
