Senior Project Associate (information Management/DTM)

Job Purpose
This Senior Project Associate (Information Management/DTM) role in Caracas, Venezuela, is crucial for coordinating and implementing project activities within IOM's mandate. The position contributes to the organization's mission by ensuring the effective management and analysis of migration-related data. The role supports IOM's efforts to provide humanitarian assistance, advance international cooperation on migration, and develop practical solutions to emerging challenges. By leading information management workflows and contributing to reporting, the associate directly impacts IOM's ability to understand and respond to migration dynamics, thereby supporting vulnerable populations and informing policy.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate project implementation, monitoring activities, and analyze challenges to adjust work plans. Research, compile, and analyze information and data on migration developments, presenting findings to relevant parties. Monitor budget expenditures and ensure compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements. Plan and conduct capacity-building workshops. Liaise with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, reports, and briefing notes, ensuring timely submission. Identify and document best practices and lessons learned to inform SOPs and new project development. Supervise and provide guidance and training to reporting staff. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Experience in leading or coordinating information management, reporting, assessment support, monitoring and evaluation, or data analysis in humanitarian, emergency, or development contexts. Experience with DTM activities, rapid needs assessments, or similar data collection is advantageous. Experience supervising field teams and preparing information products is also beneficial.
Skills
Strong leadership, organization, and coordination abilities for information management workflows under tight deadlines. Understanding of DTM, humanitarian assessments, and responsible data use. Ability to guide data collection, cleaning, validation, analysis, visualization, and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; knowledge of Power BI, Kobo/ODK, or GIS is advantageous.
