This internship role sits within the Policy and Programme Support Unit in Bangkok, Thailand.
Job Purpose
This internship position supports reporting, information management, and related programme support functions within the Policy and Programme Support Unit. The intern will work under the supervision of the Head of the Unit and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Officer. The role is designed to provide practical experience in supporting IOM's migration-related activities, contributing to the accurate and timely dissemination of information. The intern will gain exposure to IOM's operations, understand the UN system, and develop technical skills relevant to programme support and reporting in an international context.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the development, compilation, and submission of donor reports and proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This involves collecting and consolidating inputs from programme teams, assisting in maintaining reporting trackers and information management systems, and supporting the review and formatting of reports. The intern will also provide technical support on reporting tools, assist with programme-related meetings, and potentially undertake travel for project monitoring. Additionally, the role involves supporting other functions within the Policy and Programme Support Unit, such as project development, monitoring, evaluation, and compliance, as needed.
Work Experience
Previous internship, volunteer, academic, or professional experience in reporting, research, information management, programme support, communications, or administration is advantageous. Experience with designing information management tools for report writing and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are desirable.
Skills
Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Computer literacy, including database tools and strong Excel knowledge. Ability to review, consolidate, and organize information. Proven ability to produce accurate and concise work within deadlines. Ability to work effectively in a diverse team and independently. Strong interpersonal and coordination skills. Demonstrated interest in migration, development, or humanitarian fields. Written and verbal Thai communication skills are an advantage.
