Job Purpose
The Project Associate will support and coordinate the achievement of project objectives and the day-to-day implementation of activities under the EU-funded project 'Promoting Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Labour Market Integration'. This role is crucial in addressing the complex challenges of integrating Syrians under Temporary Protection, Persons under International Protection, and host community members into the labour market in Türkiye. The project, implemented by IOM in partnership with key ministries, aims to enhance employability and community integration through institutional capacity building and by promoting respect and inclusivity for all groups, with a focus on vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project-specific data. Monitor project budgets, verify fund availability, and obtain necessary approvals. Serve as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external parties. Draft status reports, correspondence, and briefing notes, identifying and suggesting solutions for delivery shortfalls. Respond to information requests, maintain project files, and organize meetings and training sessions. Participate in meetings and assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. Monitor implementing partners' work and report non-compliance. Provide guidance to junior staff and perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups. Prior experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government/non-government institutions is advantageous.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas. Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming. Knowledge of financial rules and regulations. Fluency in English and Turkish (oral and written).
