Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Manila seeks a Financial Reporting Associate. Job Purpose
The Financial Reporting Associate's primary purpose is to execute financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation functions to support the accurate and timely preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements. This role ensures adherence to International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and IOM's internal policies. By performing detailed financial reporting activities, including the preparation of various schedules, disclosures, and reports, the associate contributes significantly to the organization's financial transparency and accountability. The position also involves coordinating with stakeholders to resolve reporting issues and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all financial data submitted.
Responsibilities
The Financial Reporting Associate is responsible for preparing assigned financial statement schedules, note disclosures, and supporting documentation in accordance with IPSAS and organizational requirements. This includes compiling financial information for internal and external reporting, responding to audit requests, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of reports. The role also involves performing centralized financial reporting activities, such as preparing calculations and adjustments, and monitoring financial reporting areas for consistency and compliance. Additionally, the associate will contribute to process improvements, participate in system testing and ERP enhancement initiatives, maintain Standard Operating Procedures, and respond to inquiries through various communication channels.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting and finance is required, including experience in preparing financial statements, performing financial analysis, and conducting reconciliations. Experience with ERP financial systems (e.g., Oracle) is necessary. Experience within an international organization or multinational environment is advantageous.
Skills
Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Sound knowledge of accounting systems. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Skills in financial reporting, accounting, and analysis.
