Job Purpose
This role is responsible for assisting in the implementation of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) counselling and related activities for the project 'Training, Assistance and Territorial Support for the Efficiency of Assisted Voluntary Returns'. The incumbent will support the project's objectives by providing information and counselling to migrants interested in voluntary return, facilitating application processes, and coordinating with various stakeholders. The position contributes to IOM's mission of promoting orderly migration and supporting vulnerable individuals on the move, ensuring their safe and dignified return.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining contact with local stakeholders such as municipalities, NGOs, and diaspora groups to support AVRR information dissemination and referral mechanisms. The role involves providing AVRR information sessions and tailored counselling to Third Country Nationals (TCNs) interested in returning home. This includes assisting migrants in completing applications, submitting them through the online system, and ensuring proper documentation and filing. The incumbent will also disseminate AVRR materials, coordinate with local authorities for the assessment and authorization of eligible migrants, and assist in organizing transportation for returnees, including obtaining necessary medical documentation. Additionally, the role involves collecting data for reporting, contributing to success stories, and performing other project-related tasks as assigned.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of experience in the migration sector, with a focus on direct assistance to migrant populations, including those in vulnerable situations. Proven experience working with Italian institutions, civil society, and diaspora groups is essential. Experience in a multicultural team and previous AVRR counselling are considered assets.
