Job Purpose
The National Project Officer (Regular Pathways & Socioeconomic Integration) will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing projects focused on regular migration pathways and the socioeconomic integration of migrants in Guyana. This position is integral to IOM's efforts to facilitate safe, orderly, and regular migration, ensuring that migrants can contribute effectively to the host society and economy. The role involves coordinating project activities, building partnerships with government entities, civil society organizations, and the private sector, and monitoring project progress to achieve defined objectives. The ultimate goal is to enhance the positive impact of migration on both migrants and the host community, fostering inclusive development.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage project activities related to regular migration pathways and socioeconomic integration, ensuring alignment with IOM's strategic objectives and donor requirements. Coordinate project implementation, including work plans, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and effective delivery of outputs. Build and maintain strong relationships with government ministries, local authorities, civil society organizations, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support project goals. Monitor project progress, collect data, and prepare regular reports on activities, achievements, and challenges. Identify potential risks and challenges and develop mitigation strategies. Contribute to the development of new project proposals and fundraising initiatives. Ensure compliance with IOM's administrative and financial procedures.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in project management, preferably within the context of migration, development, or humanitarian assistance. Experience in working with government counterparts and international organizations is highly desirable. Proven track record in implementing and monitoring projects is essential.
