The Internship Programme aims to attract talented students and graduates interested in migration-related fields.

Job Purpose

The Internship Programme at IOM seeks to attract talented students and graduates with a specific interest in or relevant studies covering areas pertinent to IOM's programmes and activities. This programme is designed for individuals who are either enrolled in their final year of a Bachelor's degree, have graduated within the last 12 months, or are pursuing a Master's degree. Interns are expected to be between 20 and 36 years old and possess less than two years of relevant working experience. The programme aims to provide valuable practical experience within an international organization, contributing to the intern's academic and professional development while supporting IOM's mission.

Responsibilities

The intern will report to the Programme Coordinator within the Migration Policy and Data Unit, supporting daily tasks and collaborating with the programme team. Key responsibilities include providing logistical and administrative support for unit events and initiatives, assisting with the operational activities of the Unit, and attending internal meetings. The intern will also liaise with IOM partners, support the preparation of situational updates and programme-related documentation, and perform other assigned duties. This role offers exposure to an international multicultural environment, organizational management, international cooperation, and IOM's strategic work in migration.

Work Experience

Previous academic or professional experience in migration-related issues, legal frameworks, or policy analysis is desirable. Experience in project management, research, or supporting programme implementation is advantageous. Familiarity with migration laws, administrative procedures, or regulatory systems is considered an asset. Experience working with international organizations, governmental institutions, or NGOs is beneficial.
