Senior Information Management Associate
Organizational Context

It promotes humane and orderly migration, saves lives, protects people on the move, and drives solutions to displacement. The Senior Information Management Associate, under the Senior National MEAL Officer, supports information production and dissemination within IOM Türkiye, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate migration data.
Job Purpose
The Senior Information Management Associate plays a crucial role in strengthening IOM Türkiye's data management systems. This position is responsible for assisting in the production and dissemination of vital information, ensuring the availability and accuracy of migration-related data through close collaboration with relevant teams in the Ankara and Gaziantep offices, as well as external stakeholders. The role involves operationalizing data standards at the field level, compiling data from various sources, and analyzing information concerning all populations of concern. The ultimate goal is to enhance the country mission's capacity for data collection, analysis, and reporting, thereby supporting IOM's mandate to promote humane and orderly migration and provide effective assistance to migrants.
Responsibilities
The Senior Information Management Associate will operationalize and promote country-specific data standards, including IOM and IASC standards. Responsibilities include supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of information management activities across IOM Türkiye's portfolio in Ankara and Gaziantep, and monitoring IM focal points. The role involves compiling and aggregating information for standardized products, implementing data collection plans, and performing data quality control. The associate will generate periodic reports for internal and external mechanisms, assist field teams with data collection tools and procedures, and conduct data analysis to identify migration trends. Additionally, the position supports training staff on information management, leverages geographic data for GIS, validates program products, responds to ad hoc information requests, and participates in IM working groups. The role also involves using business intelligence tools to create dashboards and reports for performance monitoring.
Work Experience
Requires at least four years of experience managing business intelligence (BI) software and using information management programs/databases (e.g., Power BI, Kobo Toolbox, Excel, Access, Python). Two years of experience in managing remote teams, preparing reports, and developing assessment tools are needed. Experience in information management for emergency response and migration, working with international organizations or UN agencies, and previous experience in Türkiye or similar contexts are also required.
Skills
Familiarity with data mining techniques for analyzing large migration datasets. Capability to develop protocols for data collection, validation, and verification. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI for creating compelling data representations.
