Job Purpose
The Senior Human Resources Associate (G-6) in Caracas, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, plays a crucial role in supporting IOM's mission by ensuring efficient and effective human resources management. This position contributes to the smooth operation of the office by coordinating recruitment processes, managing employee data, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. The role is vital for maintaining a productive and supportive work environment, enabling IOM to better serve migrants and governments. The associate will handle a range of HR functions, from pre-employment activities to ongoing personnel administration, ensuring that all HR processes align with IOM's standards and objectives.
Responsibilities
The Senior Human Resources Associate is responsible for coordinating recruitment processes, including guiding hiring managers, drafting vacancy notices, screening applications, and participating in interviews. They manage pre-employment activities such as preparing documentation for onboarding, coordinating medical exams, and arranging induction sessions. The role involves performing and coordinating HR actions within the organizational system, ensuring data accuracy, and managing personnel records. Responsibilities also include monitoring attendance and leave administration, preparing and coordinating HR reports, and maintaining systematic archiving of HR documents. Additionally, the associate monitors performance evaluation compliance, plans and coordinates HR events and training activities, and provides information and guidance to staff on entitlements and procedures. They may also provide training to junior staff and participate in inter-agency HR working groups.
Work Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential. Previous experience with SAP is a distinct advantage. The role requires attention to detail, methodical organization of paperwork, discretion, and a client-oriented approach. Prior experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is advantageous.
