Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Costa Rica seeks a Senior Project Associate for Case Management within the GAVR Programme. Job Purpose
The Senior Project Associate (Case Management) is responsible for supporting the comprehensive case management of the GAVR Programme's workload in Costa Rica. This involves overseeing and coordinating project implementation, monitoring case management activities, and ensuring adherence to established plans and IOM policies. The role contributes to the effective delivery of reintegration services by managing caseloads, analyzing implementation challenges, and recommending adjustments to optimize program outcomes in a dynamic environment. Additionally, the position involves coordinating administrative and technical aspects, preparing reports, and contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures and project concepts.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate project implementation, monitoring case management activities, and analyzing challenges to adapt work plans. Research, compile, and analyze information on returns and reintegration developments, presenting findings to relevant parties. Monitor budget expenditures for the GAVR caseload, verifying fund availability and maintaining records. Coordinate administrative and technical aspects of case management activities in line with IOM policies and donor requirements. Plan, coordinate, and conduct capacity-building workshops for case managers and external stakeholders. Maintain liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors. Prepare correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and narrative/financial reports, ensuring timely submission. Document good practices and lessons learned, contributing to SOPs, policies, and concept papers. Supervise and provide guidance and training to a team of project associates and reporting staff.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups is essential. Prior experience in a multi-cultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is advantageous.
