Job Purpose
This role supports the daily management of temporary shelters and transit centers established in response to the 2026 Venezuelan earthquake. The primary purpose is to ensure the provision of adequate assistance and protection to displaced persons and vulnerable migrants. This involves assessing needs, supporting community governance, promoting inclusive participation, and facilitating access to essential services. The position aims to create safe, dignified living conditions, reduce risks associated with displacement, and ensure effective coordination with humanitarian actors and local authorities for a timely and efficient response.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Accommodation Management Officer (CCCM) will regularly visit shelters and surrounding communities to ensure adequate assistance and protection. Key duties include assessing needs, vulnerabilities, and service gaps; supporting internal governance and community management within shelters; and promoting inclusive participation of all demographic groups. The role involves ensuring effective information exchange and accountability mechanisms, strengthening coordination with humanitarian actors and local authorities, and supporting rapid response to new displacement events. Responsibilities also include collecting and reporting relevant information for humanitarian planning, contributing to context and needs analysis, and assisting in the daily management of temporary accommodations, monitoring site conditions, and referring cases to relevant service providers.
