Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator in Oranjestad, Aruba, is responsible for the direct implementation of project activities within the framework of IOM's Movement Operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that the organized movement of persons requiring international migration assistance is carried out efficiently and in line with IOM standards and agreements with governments and partners. The position contributes to the overall mandate of IOM by managing and coordinating operational activities, ensuring adherence to project objectives, and supporting the broader goals of the Resettlement and Movement Management Division. The coordinator plays a key part in the successful execution of IOM's programs in the region.
Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will plan and coordinate operational activities, ensuring adherence to IOM standards and developing effective monitoring procedures. Key duties include managing project correspondence, drafting reports, and preparing briefings. The role involves overseeing the implementation of the DTM in Aruba, including biometric registration and flow monitoring, and adapting methodologies to the local context. Coordination with government partners, donors, UN agencies, and civil society is essential. The coordinator will arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes. They will also plan and implement training sessions and workshops related to IOM projects. Administrative procedures for project implementation will be supervised, alongside monitoring progress against budget and outcomes. Data collection and analysis for project reporting are also key responsibilities, as is assisting in the development of new programs and project proposals. The role includes supervising the local team and performing other assigned project-related duties.
Work Experience
Prior experience in Movement Operations, particularly with IOM, is essential. Knowledge of IOM's Movement Operations program implementation, and its administrative, financial, and business rules and practices is desirable.
