Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a leading inter-governmental organization dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration. The Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) in Bangkok supports 40 countries. The Climate Mobility Innovation Lab (CMIL), hosted by IOM, addresses the nexus between human mobility and climate change, fostering innovation and partnerships. This role supports the visibility of the Risk Index for Climate Displacement (RICD) and Climate Catalytic Fund (CCF).

Job Purpose

This consultancy aims to enhance the visibility and impact of IOM's Climate Mobility Innovation Lab (CMIL), specifically the Risk Index for Climate Displacement (RICD) and the Climate Catalytic Fund (CCF). The Videographer Consultant will be responsible for producing compelling audiovisual content that captures the lived experiences of beneficiaries, highlighting the challenges and support received through CCF initiatives. The goal is to translate these personal stories into powerful, community-relevant awareness content that informs and inspires stakeholders, including governments and private sector actors, to support climate adaptation actions and co-fund CCF projects. The role is crucial for showcasing the project's impact and creating a lasting archive of beneficiary testimonies and success stories for future use by IOM, contributing to the broader mission of addressing climate-induced displacement.

Responsibilities

The Videographer Consultant will be responsible for capturing personal stories of beneficiaries impacted by climate change and supported by IOM's Climate Catalytic Fund (CCF). This includes producing audiovisual content for large-screen projection and digital platforms, translating lived experiences into impactful awareness materials. The consultant will develop concepts, storyboards, and scripts for multiple videos, including country-based documentaries (Fiji, Vanuatu, Philippines, Indonesia) and a regional documentary, in coordination with IOM country offices and the ROAP Media and Communications Unit. Responsibilities include consolidating content, producing rough cuts, making final edits based on feedback, and delivering videos with English subtitles. Additionally, the consultant will produce short cut-downs for promotional use and ensure all final video files, raw materials, and scripts are delivered in specified formats, adhering to IOM and EU visibility guidelines. The entire production process, from scripting to final delivery, will be managed by the consultant and closely coordinated with the CMIL project officer.

Work Experience

Requires at least five years of proven experience in video content design and production, documentary filmmaking, or audiovisual production, with a focus on human-interest or community-based content in the Asia-Pacific region. Experience with climate mobility, migration, or sustainability messaging is a strong asset. Proficiency in producing short-form digital content optimized for social media platforms is also essential.

Skills

Technical expertise in the full video production cycle (pre-production, filming, editing, post-production) using professional equipment. Strong compliance with ethical standards, safeguarding principles, and donor/IOM visibility requirements. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with institutional partners, incorporate feedback constructively, and manage approval processes effectively.
