The organization fosters an inclusive workplace to maximize migration's potential. This role is based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, under the Chief of Mission and National Protection Officer.

Job Purpose

This Project Associate role supports the Migrants Protection and Assistance unit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The primary purpose is to provide administrative support to the National Protection Officer and contribute to the implementation of key projects focused on preventing irregular migration, strengthening survivor-centered protection against trafficking, and enhancing migrant protection from violence and exploitation in Central Asia. The role involves assisting in project monitoring, data analysis, budget tracking, and administrative coordination, ensuring effective project delivery and liaison with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, retrieving and analyzing project data, and monitoring budgets by verifying fund availability and updating information. The role involves acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal and external parties to initiate requests and process actions. Responsibilities also include drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls, and suggesting remedial actions. The Project Associate will draft correspondence, prepare reports and documentation, respond to information requests, maintain files, and organize meetings and workshops. Participation in meetings with local authorities, UN agencies, and other stakeholders is required, along with monitoring implementing partners and reporting non-compliance.

Work Experience

Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and victims of trafficking is essential. Prior work experience within international humanitarian organizations, non-government, or government institutions in a multicultural setting is considered an advantage.

Skills

Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups (migrants, refugees, IDPs, trafficking victims). Prior experience in international humanitarian organizations or government institutions in a multicultural setting is advantageous. Fluency in English, Russian, and Uzbek is required.
