Job Purpose
This role supports the implementation of reintegration projects within the Protection Unit. The Project Assistant will provide general and clerical assistance for project activities, including monitoring budgets, compiling data, and drafting reports. The position also involves administrative coordination for project implementation, liaising with internal and external parties, and supporting the organization of meetings and training sessions. The incumbent will respond to information requests and maintain project files. This role is crucial for the effective execution of reintegration initiatives and contributes to IOM's broader mission of supporting migrants and displaced persons.
Responsibilities
Provide general and clerical assistance for project activities. Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present project-related data and information. Assist in monitoring project budgets and updating financial information. Support administrative coordination for project implementation, including liaising with diverse organizational units and external parties to process requests and follow up on administrative actions. Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and presentations. Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Respond to general information requests and maintain project files and records. Perform other related duties as assigned to support reintegration and other Protection projects.
Work Experience
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multi-cultural setting is advantageous.
Skills
Experience in a relevant field and working with vulnerable groups. Proven experience in protection activities. Strong analytical, interpersonal, mediation, and organizational skills. Excellent computer literacy. Experience liaising with governmental authorities and international institutions. Prior experience working with returnees on protection activities.
