Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Financial Compliance Associate will support periodic reviews of financial reports for US donor-funded projects, verifying accuracy before submission and guiding field missions on financial reporting forms. Responsibilities include conducting spot checks on high-risk project transactions to identify noncompliance and proposing recommendations to mitigate disallowed costs. The role involves reviewing project budgets for US donor proposals, ensuring compliance with donor and internal requirements, and supporting the endorsement process. Additionally, the associate will assist in reviewing funding analyses and financial pipeline reports, monitor financial aspects of US-funded projects globally, and provide administrative guidance on financial procedures to project managers. The position also entails compiling financial data for reporting, supporting project close-out processes, maintaining organized project documentation, and contributing to the development of financial management guidelines.
Work Experience
Prior work experience in a multi-cultural setting with international humanitarian organizations, non-government, or government institutions is advantageous. Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems is also considered a distinct advantage.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work with national and international institutions. Capacity to prepare clear and concise reports. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of IOM's administrative, budgetary, financial, and business rules.
