This role is situated within the Migration Health unit in Batam, reporting to the Head of Field Office.
Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (Migration Health Nurse) will support the implementation of healthcare activities within IOM Indonesia's Migration Health program. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality of care provided to refugees and asylum seekers, aligning with international humanitarian and human rights standards. The position contributes to the program's strategy of community engagement and accountability to affected populations. The incumbent will assist in healthcare delivery, referral processes, and administrative support, ensuring beneficiaries receive necessary medical attention and services, and contributing to sustainable pathways for migrants.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in the implementation and monitoring of program activities, conducting regular visits to assess beneficiary needs, and promptly reporting protection, security, or health concerns. The role involves updating data for reports, acting as a focal point for care activities, and providing administrative support for health services, including managing communication with healthcare providers and tracking referrals. The Associate will also support emergency response actions, assist in preparing documentation for beneficiaries outside insurance coverage, and manage administrative arrangements for health assessments. Additionally, organizing meetings, workshops, and health promotion sessions, reviewing payments to service providers, and performing other assigned duties are integral to the role.
Work Experience
Requires good knowledge and experience in health services, assisting with program implementation and operational support. Experience in community outreach, social assistance, or health-related programs is advantageous. Prior experience with administrative processes for health insurance or service providers, and liaising with governmental or international organizations, is preferred.
Skills
Basic understanding of health-service processes and referral pathways. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to draft clear and concise reports. Proficient in MS Office applications.
