Job Purpose
The National Project Development Officer (NOA) plays a crucial role in supporting IOM's mission in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. This position is instrumental in advancing the organization's objectives by coordinating the development and endorsement of project proposals and reports, ensuring alignment with strategic frameworks. The role contributes to fostering engagement with knowledge management platforms and identifying new project opportunities. By facilitating regional engagement and supporting institutional processes, the officer directly contributes to IOM's capacity to address migration challenges and provide essential services to migrants and displaced persons.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the review, endorsement, and tracking of project proposals and reports, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Results Framework (SRF) and effective use of PRIMA. Promote engagement with Knowledge Management (KM) platforms and tools across the region. Identify project development opportunities and calls for proposals, supporting policy and report development. Contribute to the development of regional/multi-country projects and facilitate regional engagement on institutional processes like the IOM Development Fund (IDF) and Flexible Funding. Coordinate the development of internal reports, presentations, and briefings. Support ongoing knowledge management processes and, in the absence of the Head of PSU, coordinate incoming requests. Participate in relevant workshops and meetings, and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Experience in migration issues, including operational and field experience, with a focus on project management and development. Demonstrated expertise in project development is essential. Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, the private sector, and NGOs is required. Prior work experience in project development within the region is considered an asset.
